Easter Weekend

Easter weekend is very important for many people throughout the world. Relgious people take it very seriously and follow their beliefs and traditions such as not eating meat on Good Friday. Easter Sunday is usually spent with family and close friends. I think occasions such as Easter Sunday bring families together because unfortunately many people only see their families on holidays or special events. Therefore Easter unites everyone and brings joy all around.

My new job

It has already been two weeks since I started my new job. I am now working at Mr.Tux, its a store that rents and sells tuxedos and suits. It seems like I came at the right time because they are running on a very busy schedule with prom coming up. April and May are the busiest months and it can get pretty crazy in there with people coming in and out picking out their tux. I am still in the process of learning how to do everything but for the most part I like working there. Making money is always a good thing but it is important that you like your job. Hopefully ill learn everything quickly and things will run smoothly.

Semester almost over =)

Finally the semester is almost coming to an end!! Although it sounds great this is the time when students are stressed out the most. Students have to focus on final exams, research papers, and classwork. Plus many students are lazy in the beginning of the semester and plan to leave all the hard work and dedication towards the end. Final exams are one of the most important grades of the course so students have to do so much studying. In addition, many classes require research papers at the end of the course which can be like 8 pages long!! Overall students worry the most when the semester is ending, it can be very nerve-wracking. Good luck to you all and careful not to get too stressed out.

Author Review

One of the authors that I liked the most during the presentations was Edgar Allan Poe. Since we had already read some of his short stories in class, I was interested in learning about this author. Most of his works involve suspense, horror, and science fiction. His style of writing is very unique which is seen in the "Tell-Tale Heart," and "The Cask of Amontillado." He always seems to leave his audience with the curiosity of what will happen next. I would consider his works to be a thriller, for those who enjoy suspense and a little horror I suggest you read his stories.

A Nice Little Weekend

This past weekend was very nice and relaxed. It started off on Friday when it was my mom's birthday. My family and I celebrated at Brimstone's, a restaurant at Pembroke Gardens. The food there is so delicious and I had the miso salmon..... and well when something is that good, unfortunately it costs more than the average meal, but it was worth it. The next day I went to the Hard Rock Casino which I enjoyed very much. It was so crowded that day that there came certain areas where people would just bump into your shoulder. I also noticed the large amount of people over the age of 60.... I guess the older crowd can have fun too and still have a taste of the night life. Nowadays grandparents don't stay home anymore like they used to, now they want to go out and party... but hey I dont blame them when I get old im not going to be stuck at home either, im going out to enjoy myself. On Sunday, my boyfriend and I decided to have an adventure at the park. We first went on a boat ride where we just relaxed in the middle of the lake and soaked up some sun... I had not gone on a boat ride in years. Then we had a barbeque which was amazingly good, I personally don't know how to cook or anything like that but it's great to have a boyfriend who does hehehe and he cooks so well =) Overall this weekend was very good, it's the kind of weekend that makes you sad to know the next day is already Monday. Hopefully the next few weekends will be just as good =)

It's all about choices

There comes a time in life when people are faced with situations that force them to make a decision. It all begins when you are a young adult, you have to make certain choices that will affect your present life and your future. For example, the kind of person you strive to be, that is your choice, you choose who you are. When making choices you also have to consider your morals and integrity because if you know that what you are doing is wrong and it can hurt someone else, then why do it? Always remember that some choices can be irreversible, so be careful with the decisions you make because if you do something that you regret later on, by the time you figure out that it was the wrong thing to do, it can already be too late.

A Dream Come True!!!

This week I had my dream come true....I got a car!! I was so excited and so happy!!! After wanting a car for so long and seeing everyone else get their nice cars I always wondered when it would be my turn. For so long ive been having to share my parents cars and it was a hassle because there were so many times that I was stuck at home with no car. I was always dependent on my parents and I really did not like that. Now finally it is so great to be independent!! I cannot even explain in words how amazing I feel, the feeling of having your first car is indescribable!!!!

NSU event

This Friday, Nova Southeastern University was having an event and my friend invited me to go. It was my first time going there and the campus was so big and had so many buildings. My friend took me on a tour showing me the dorms, the gym, the library which had like five floors, and the university center. At the end of the night, outside of a building, there was a tent in the middle of the yard and there was music playing with a DJ. We were excited to go check out the NSU party. It was freezing outside, but everyone was huddled up dancing under the tent which brought the temperature up lol. Overall everything in NSU was so nice, the party, the evironment, the people; NSU really seems like a great university.

An amazing weekend!

This weekend was great.. not only because it was a long one but also because it was my boyfriend's birthday. We celebrated for three days straight with friends and family =) He even had cake for all three days... wow I bet he never had so much dessert in such a short period of time hahaha. We ate at fancy restaurants with delicious foods, went to the beach, and went to Ocean Drive. I have to say that I absolutely loved this weekend!!

A little Intro....

My name is Camila Iglesias and I am 18. I am part Brazilian and part Peruvian but I was born here in America. I consider myself lucky to have such a diverse background because I have the opportunity to experience 3 different cultures. I have come to the conclusion that the Brazilian culture is the most exotic and the one I like most. The people, the beaches, and the lifestyle are incredible!!! I highly suggest that at least once in your life you take the chance to travel to Brazil, if you do so, I am pretty sure you will confirm all the good remarks that you have heard about this country.
